Angels vs Spirit Guides; What’s the Difference? As a professional angel intuitive and psychic medium, I am asked this question constantly.
Often people use the term angels and spirit guides interchangeably when talking about their spiritual helpers. But there is a very distinct difference.
What are Angels?
Angels are extensions of God’s Infinite Love. Their entire function is to work as intermediaries between the Heavenly and Earthly realms. The unique difference between angels and spirit guides is that angels have never had an earthly incarnation.
And although angels may appear to look like male or female in physical form, angels are actually genderless.
Angels serve mankind in various ways. Some angels work more closely with Divine Source. While others work closely with humans; delivering messages, administering miracles, healing the sick, and adverting physical harm.
“I give my angels charge over you to help you in every way. They will lift you up so that you will not trip and stumble.”
Everyone is born with a minimum of two guardian angels, and some people, depending on their occupation may have more. These loving spiritual companions and caretakers are assigned to us from birth to death, and protect and guide us in all of our ways for the highest and best in Love.
What are Spirit Guides?
The main difference between spirit guides and angels is that spirit guides have had many physical incarnations as human beings. Because of this they are more spiritually evolved and choose to serve mankind with their unique talent and skills which they have gleaned through many lifetimes.
Spirit Guides are very wise and enlightened beings who seek to help to elevate the consciousness of the planet for the highest and best good of all concerned.
Spirit guides assist angels in many ways. They are able to understand humans in a unique and personal way since they had the experience of being human themselves.

How Do I Know if I am Interacting with a Spirit Guide or Angel?
This will obviously depend on the person and the situation. If you are psychically sensitive you will, with some practice learn to distinguish the difference in their energy vibrations.
In my experience, Angels have a more profound, and palpable vibration of love. When they are around me I feel as if I am enveloped in liquid love.
Spirit Guides on the other hand have a gentle, non-judgmental, and loving quality about them, but do not feel as energetically expansive to me.
Visually (and energetically), Angels are really huge in appearance and most often show up for me in their body of Light. While spirit guides show up often as they did in a particular incarnation. For instance, my Master Guide reveals himself as a Buddhist Monk.
Of course, my experience is unique to me, and you may see or feel something totally different. And that’s OK.
So angels vs. spirit guides – does it matter whom you receive help from? Of course not. The bottom line is that it doesn’t matter which is interacting with you as long as you are receiving the help and assistance that you need and desire.
The most important thing to remember is that both angels and spirit guides love you and are sent to make your life’s path smooth, safe, and fun!
