Are Angels Real?
Are angels real? Here is how I answered this commonly asked question . . .
Are Angels Real or Myth?
As a professional Angel Intuitive, I’m asked a lot of questions, but a common one is, “Are angels real?”
Several years ago when I was transitioning from full time attorney to full time spiritual counselor, my friend and colleague Dale, desperate for guidance, yet on the fence about the reality of angels, sincerely asked me this question, “Dar, are angels real?”
I told him that to me angels were very real, and that all I can do is share with him some of my own experiences and then have him decide for himself.
Angels Are Messengers From God
I went on to explain to him that the word ‘angelo’ is a Greek word that means messenger. The word El means God.
When I refer to God, I’m not referring to some pious, old man sitting at a desk judging and evaluating my every word or deed. Instead I’m talking about the pure source energy of the Divine, which is love.
Whatever name you use for God or that higher power is your choice, but I’m sure you will agree that the pure essence of the Divine is Infinite Love. This love is everywhere and it can be felt and expressed in various ways.
Angels are an extension of this pure loving energy and can be thought of as the tangible force of God’s love. I like to think of them as God’s thoughts in action.
Your Angels Love, Support, and Guide You
Angels love you unconditionally and want you to experience life to the fullest, and of course that’s exactly Infinite Love’s plan for you as well.
No One Spiritual Faith or Tradition ‘Owns’ the Angelic Realm
I also explained to my colleague that no singular spiritual faith or tradition owns the angelic realm. When I was in New Thought Seminary, I joyfully discovered that many spiritual traditions believed in and work with the energy of angels. I told my friend that the most important function of these angels was to transform fear into love.
Dale then told me that that statement in itself was very healing to him. He went on to share that he was raised in a very strict fundamentalist religious background and that he was still healing from the fear based dogma.
Finally, I told him that the only way to make up his mind for himself to discover if angels were real was to experience them firsthand for himself. He was intrigued by this and asked me how.
“Simple” I replied. “All you need to do is ask them to reveal themselves to you. The way you do that is by inviting their help.”
How to Welcome Angels Into Your Life
Here is a quick process that will help you to open up to receive help and guidance from your Guardian Angels.
• Sit in a quiet place where you will not be disturbed for about 10 minutes.
• Place your hands over your heart chakra and recall the sensation of love. If it helps, picture a person or a pet that you deeply love in your mind’s eye and then allow that feeling of love to deepen.
• Affirm the following. “Guardian Angels, I open myself up to your existence and allow you to empower me to feel and to experience you. Show your presence to me in fun, obvious ways in which that I will know beyond a doubt, that is you revealing yourself to me. Thank you for aligning my energy with yours on this joyous, new path of love. And so it is!
• Keep a record or log of all the experiences that show up for you – and there will be many. This will help you to not only deepen your experience, but to also train your subconscious mind to pay attention to the many ways that angel show up for you.
So Dale, Are Angels Real?
So what ever happened with my friend Dale? He was skeptical at first, but experimented with the process I outlined above for four weeks.
The next time I saw him, he was transformed! Dale explained that the day he invited the angels to reveal themselves to him was the day his life changed forever. He now was having experience after experience with their support, love and assistance, and now to him, the angels are indeed very real.
